Spain’s Tosha Schareina, delivered a commanding performance at the 2025 Sertões Rally, claiming the overall victory and the Moto 1 category title with a lead of over 48 minutes. Held across eight days and over 3,000 kilometers of Brazilian terrain, the Sertões once again proved to be a true test of skill, endurance, and strategy.
The rally kicked off in Goiânia (GO) on July 26 and was set to conclude on August 3 in Marechal Deodoro (AL). However, heavy rains in the final region forced the cancellation of the last two stages. Despite this, six grueling stages were completed, in which Schareina claimed five stage wins and maintained a consistent lead throughout the rally.
A Strong Debut in Brazil
Making his debut at the Sertões, Schareina started the rally from 38th position after a navigational error in the prologue. But on the first official stage, he pushed through extreme dust and overtook dozens of riders to finish second. From there, he never looked back.
On Stage 2, he took the overall lead after dominating the longest special of the rally (301 km), a mix of fast farm roads and technical sandy trails. He continued to extend his advantage in Stage 3 and 4, the latter being a Marathon stage where riders received no external mechanical support.
In true Dakar style, Schareina managed his bike, navigated challenging terrain, and delivered precise riding throughout the week. On Stage 5, he conquered a combination of deep sand and rocky mountain sections to take his fourth win. By Stage 6, his lead had grown to an unshakable 48 minutes.
A Victory for the Team
Schareina’s win not only marks a personal milestone—his first title at Sertões—but also secures Honda’s 11th overall victory in the rally’s history, reinforcing the brand’s dominance in off-road competition. His performance also highlights the strength and reliability of the Honda CRF 450 Rally, which endured Brazil’s demanding terrain without fault.
The Monster Energy Honda HRC, supported by Honda Racing Brazil, fielded a strong presence alongside other top riders. The rally served as a key preparation race for Schareina ahead of upcoming W2RC rounds and the Dakar Rally.
Looking Ahead
With this win, Schareina consolidates his position as one of the top contenders in the world of rally raid. Currently ranked third in the World Rally-Raid Championship and runner-up at Dakar 2025, his momentum continues to grow.
The Monster Energy Honda HRC celebrates this victory with pride and looks forward to the challenges ahead. One thing is clear: Tosha Schareina has arrived in Brazil, and he has done so in dominant fashion.

Yesterday it rained all day and at night it was crazy, which meant that today’s stage was suspended, making us the champions of this rally.
It was a very intense race that reminded me of the Dakar when it was held in South America. The bivouac was incredible, there were a large number of participants, and it was a race with very different terrains, which meant that Tosha had to adapt every day.
We are very happy with the victory and I would like to thank Honda Brazil for their support, all the fans, and the entire Monster Energy Honda HRC team for their good work over the last few days.

I had very high expectations for this rally, and it has been much tougher than I thought. It has been a long distance, like a mini Dakar. Today we arrived with a big lead, but the stage had to be suspended for safety reasons because it has been raining heavily.
I am very happy with the victory, ‘muito obrigado’ to Honda Brazil and everyone for their support.
