Josh Gilbert of the Lexa MX team has announced that he will skip the next two rounds of the MXGP World Championship in Loket and Lommel.
Gilbert is recovering from the Epstein-Barr virus, which was diagnosed shortly before the British Grand Prix. On Sunday, he made his first appearance in four weeks at the British Championship in Preston Docks, where he finished fifth.
The effort took a significant toll on him, prompting him and the team to schedule additional rest. The goal is for him to return in top form for the next round of the British Championship in Landrake.
