Lucas Coenen dominated the MXGP qualifying race in Finland, taking the win ahead of Calvin Vlaanderen and Andrea Bonacorsi. Ruben Fernandez and Jago Geerts finished fourth and fifth.
Romain Febvre ran into trouble on the opening lap and had to fight his way back through the pack, eventually salvaging sixth place. Glenn Coldenhoff also crashed in the first lap but managed to recover to twelfth place.
