Kevin Strijbos, Van Erp, and Elzinga Also Heading to Heerde

If you’re looking to watch a great motocross race with many big names just before the summer holidays, then the Dutch Mid Season Race in Heerde on July 6 is an absolute must-see!

None other than Kevin Strijbos will be suiting up once again to compete in the 500cc class in Heerde. Strijbos is currently working as a coach for the Fantic Racing Factory MXGP team, and he has ramped up his riding in recent weeks to be ready for the intense competition in the 500 class. There, he will be going up against MXGP stars such as Romain Febvre, Jeffrey Herlings, and Glenn Coldenhoff.

Kevin Strijbos has had an impressive motocross career, with several high-level achievements, including Vice World Champion in MX1 in 2006 and 2007, third overall in the MXGP class in 2014, six Grand Prix victories, and multiple podium finishes with Team Belgium at the Motocross of Nations, including a win in Lierop in 2004.

Strijbos will race in Heerde with start number 902. In addition to Strijbos’ participation, we can now confirm that two strong Yamaha riders will also be competing in Heerde. Rick Elzinga is back from a collarbone injury and will line up in the MX2 class. Elzinga has multiple podium finishes in the MX2 World Championship and is a three-time Dutch Masters Champion (once in 85cc and twice in MX2).

We’ll also get to see the talented Ivano van Erp in action in Heerde. Van Erp is currently in great form and led for several laps in the second moto of the EMX250 class in England last Sunday. He ultimately finished second in England and is a major addition to the lineup in Heerde. The MX2 class promises fireworks, with riders like Kay de Wolf, Cas Valk, Gyan Doensen, Elzinga, Scott Smulders and Van Erp all competing.

Mark your calendar and come enjoy top-level motocross action! This is also a day when the riders will have extra time for their fans—so you can go home with plenty of posters, autographs, and photos.
