FIM Sidecarcross world stars return to Brou 7/8 June 2025

Moto Club de Brou has a proud history of moto and sidecarcross over several decades, having hosted world championship and national events of the highest quality. Located around 80 kilometres from Le Mans, the sweeping hillside track has a natural viewing veranda attracting large numbers of enthusiastic spectators. There is always a carnival atmosphere at Brou and that will be even more evident with the success this season of Killian and Evan Prunier. But for a mechanical fault in race two at Foxhill, the French champions would be in a strong second place in the title race. As it is, they trail in fourth, three points behind Brett Wilkinson/Joe Millard and just ten points behind defending champions Marvin Vanluchene and Nicolas Musset.

The home team will be hell-bent on making amends for that zero score in race two at Foxhill, so watch out for fireworks.

At the head of the table sit three-times race winners Koen Hermans/Ben van den Bogaart twenty-six points clear of Vanluchene. This is a massive margin after just four races and will be on the minds of all the other teams.

In that regard, there is none more so that the young Latvian pairing of the Lielbardis brothers who can be forgiven for thinking this would be their year. After carrying the red plate for much of the 2024 season, they had huge expectations but now must overcome a dreadful start to the 2025 campaign. They head for Brou in thirteenth place with just thirty-five points on the board. Once they find their rhythm, things could change, but they will be coming from a long way behind, and the opposition is even stronger this year.

Justin Keuben/Dion Rietman are back and riding as well as ever, the Leferink brothers have started the season very strongly, and the surprise package from Austria, Benny Weiss and Patrick Schneider, sit fifth in the standings four points behind the Prunier brothers. The Austrians took victory in race two at Kramolin and are hungry for more.

Throw into the pot Davy Sanders/Jens Vincent, Stephan Wijers/Han van Hal, and the other British crew of and Mike Hodges/Ryan Henderson and you have an interesting cocktail of speed and talent. Tim Prummer is likely to miss Brou, as he was unable to compete on race day at Foxhill due to Jarno Steegmans his passenger collecting a broken foot. This is a real set-back for the German, and we wish Jarno a speedy recovery.

Both days at Brou will once again enjoy live TV streaming on FIM-MOTO.TV across all Qualifying and Grand Prix races and the prize-giving ceremonyalso with the support races on Sunday – Coupe de France 450 and Ligue 125cc.
