Vencislav Toshev of AIT Racing achieved a career milestone during the seventh round of the EMX125 Championship in Ernee, France, by securing his first-ever top-five overall finish.
In the first moto, Toshev didn’t get the best start but managed to recover quickly by gaining several positions in the opening corners, eventually moving up to fifteenth. His progress was briefly halted when a rider crashed right in front of him, forcing him to stop. Undeterred, he launched a strong comeback and worked his way up through the field to finish in a solid ninth place.
On Sunday, in the second moto, Toshev showed improved pace and crossed the line in an impressive seventh place. These consistent results earned him a well-deserved fifth overall on the day. He now sits seventeenth in the EMX125 Championship standings.
Hakon Osterhagen felt comfortable on the Ernee circuit during both free and timed practice sessions in the EMX250 class. Unfortunately, he couldn’t find the speed he needed in time practice and had to settle for eighteenth.
In the first moto, Osterhagen was hit from behind by another rider right after the start, losing valuable positions. He began to push forward but made a mistake on a jump and suffered a heavy crash, ending any hopes of a good result.
In the second moto, he finally had a strong start and exited the first turn in third place. However, disaster struck again when another rider landed on him at the first jump, causing another crash. Despite the setback, Osterhagen managed to complete the race and finished in fourteenth place. Although it was a better ride, it still wasn’t where he wanted to be.
He finished twentieth overall for the day and is currently 28th in the EMX250 Championship standings.
Jake Davies struggled to find his rhythm during time practice. Unable to piece together a clean lap, he missed out on qualifying for the races.
Next weekend, AIT Racing heads to Teutschenthal, Germany, for the eighth round of the EMX125 Championship.
