Jeffrey Herlings of the Red Bull KTM Factory Team finished second at the second round of the Dutch Masters of Motocross in Oldebroek. Herlings rode two consistent motos, finishing second and third.
Herlings’ form continues to improve. He entered time practice in Oldebroek with high motivation. The track was in good condition, but due to heavy rainfall on Thursday, deep ruts quickly formed. Herlings went out several times to put in a fast lap and eventually set the third-fastest time.
A strong start in the first moto allowed Herlings to quickly move into second place. He followed Romain Febvre closely and managed to stay with him for much of the race. In the closing stages, Herlings had to drop back slightly and settled for a solid second-place finish.
In the second moto, his start wasn’t as sharp, but he worked his way up to third early on. He immediately began to pressure Jago Geerts for second, making several attempts to pass. However, Geerts held his ground, and Herlings ultimately crossed the line in third, securing second overall for the day.
Jeffrey Herlings commented:
“It was a good day. We’re getting closer to the top. Of course, there’s still a lot of work to do, but things are looking positive. We’re continuing to build, and hopefully, we can get back into the top five in the upcoming Grands Prix.”
Herlings is set to compete this Thursday in an international race in Austreberthe, France, and will race again the following weekend at the seventh round of the MXGP World Championship in Águeda, Portugal.
