MATHIS VALIN WILL MISS SARDINIA

The FIM Motocross World Championship is back to action this weekend in Sardinia for the first of three back-to-back GPs. Kawasaki Racing Team MX2’s Mathis Valin will miss the fourth round of the season as he still recovering from his hand injury.

One weekend off was not enough for Mathis to recover from the hand injury he sustained during the MXGP of Castilla la Manche. Mathis raced in pain at Saint Jean d’Angely two weeks ago and, in agreement with the Kawasaki Racing Team, he will sit out the MXGP of Sardinia this weekend.

Last weekend was a good one for Kawasaki riders as Romain Febvre won the opening round of the Dutch Masters, while Bobby Bruce won the opening round of the British MX2 series and Francisco Garcia finished runner-up in the MX2 French Elite Championship. Romain Febvre and Pauls Jonass will represent Kawasaki in Sardinia, while the EMX250 riders will be back in action at Arco di Trento one week later.

Antti Pyrhonen (KRT manager): “Injury is not welcome but it is not entirely unexpected. It’s early in the season and there are plenty of points and podiums ahead for Mathis so we have opted to get him back to full fitness as soon as possible rather than send him out at less than 100% in Sardinia.”
