Ducati entered a motocross bike for the first time this year in the Italian MX1 Championship. Alessandro Lupino rode the DESMO450 and managed to win the Italian title. Additionally, Antonio Cairoli was busy with the development of the bike and participated in the Italian Championship in Ponte a Egola and in the MXGP round in Arnhem.
