Jarne Bervoets of the MJC Yamaha team will be out for several weeks. Bervoets injured his thumb in the week before the EMX125 race in Sweden. In Sweden he hurt it again, but during an initial examination there was nothing seriously wrong, so he decided to race on the Keiheuvel in Mol last Thursday. Bervoets managed to win both motos here and traveled with confidence to the next EMX125 race in Arnhem, the Netherlands.
Here he had a lot of pain in his thumb again. Bervoets tried to ride but had to retire from the race early in the first moto. In the second moto he took a point with a twentieth place.
During the race in Arnhem, Bervoets had too much pain in his thumb to be able to ride properly. As a result, it was decided to let the injury heal completely before he will be back in the races. Bervoets will skip the EMX125 in Switzerland this weekend. The last race in Spain on September 29 remains a question mark for the time being.
