Having raced in the + 50 class at VMXdN Foxhill 2023, three-time world champion Alessio “Chicco” Chiodi returns for 2024 with the backing of Crescent Yamaha and Yamaha Motor Heritage Club, but this time Chicco is chasing more competition by entering a second Italian team in the headline VMXdN International Team Race on the August Bank Holiday Weekend.
With Italy already having one team entered in the main race, Team Italy Blue, headlined by world champion Davide Philippaerts with Andrea Cervellin and Filippo Bertuzzo, you would think that would suffice, but the Italians’ passion runs deep in this sport, so they have entered a second team.
Team Italy White will be headlined by three-time world champion Alessio “chicco” Chiodi who will be running the number 28 on his DocWob built, Pro Circuit tuned 2002 YZ 250 with backup from some class riders in former Grand Prix racers Davide De Bartoli and Davide Guarneri running numbers 29 and 30 respectively.
VMXdN Foxhill is a firm favourite with MX fans worldwide, young and old, from those who remember it the first time around to those who long to meet the heroes behind the stories they have been brought up on. VMXdN Foxhill is like no other meeting on the UK motocross calendar. The smell of pre-mix fills the air to the tune of singing two strokes. The open paddocks mean one minute you are chatting to your old motocross rival from your schoolboy racing days to bumping into the heroes that adorned the posters on your bedroom wall.
Let’s not forget the gate drops, the hole shots and the epic battles that happen out on the track, Show’N’Shine or evening entertainment, all at the fantastic value of just £16 a day (when purchasing an adult weekend ticket).
This is the “must-go-to” event on the British motocross calendar. The Foxhill circuit, synonymous with 90s motocross, has attracted legends and heroes from the sport worldwide.
