F&H Racing’s Quentin Prugnieres has come close to the top ten in the fourth round of the MX2 World Championship in Arco di Trento, Italy. Prugnieres managed to finish thirteenth and twelfth in the motos and finished in twelfth place in the day’s classification.
The Arco di Trento circuit is completely different from the Riola Sardo circuit, where the Grand Prix was held a week earlier. Prugnieres had prepared well for the race and was ready for it. In the training he needed some time to get into the right rhythm and therefore did not get any further than a sixteenth time in the time training. In the qualifying heat it went better and he managed to cross the finish line in thirteenth place.
In the first moto on Sunday, Prugnieres didn’t get off to a good start and had to come back to the front from around twentieth place. With a good rhythm he started to pass one rider after another and came further and further back to the front during the race. His fighting spirit eventually earned him a thirteenth place.
In the second moto, Prugnieres had a very consistent race. He was in a better position after the start and came out of the first lap in eleventh place. He was just outside the top ten for the entire race and crossed the finish line in twelfth place.
With a 13-12 in the motos, he finished in twelfth place in the day’s classification. In the world championship standings, he is now fifteenth, just four points behind the fourteenth man. In three weeks’ time, the championship will continue in Agueda, Portugal.
