Back by popular demand in 2024 will be individual MXGP and MX2 classes with the historic Super Final rounding out the day as always at the end, mixing the classes. Adding to this will be the extremely popular EMX125 class.

2023 was a superb year for spectators and weather and the Hawkstone International was a huge success watching the likes of Herlings, Coldenhoff and Febvre battle it out with each other. Over the coming months we will be announcing some exciting names again and SMC can’t wait to welcome the loyal, old and new Motocross fans to this fabulous Shropshire track.

Entries are now open for the MX1, MX2 and EMX125, please contact Gary Ford on [email protected]

The Hawkstone International will give the fans an opportunity to see some of the World’s best riders in the UK in 2042. This is a prime opportunity to see new teams, new riders and some of the best racers in the World battle against each other at one of the most famous MX circuits. The enormous turnout of spectators and together with all the top teams preparing for their long seasons ahead, make the now traditional season opener in the UK a must on anyone’s calendar.

Gary Ford – Event Secretary – “For 2024, after consultation with various people we have switched back to the original format we have used for numerous years, so the MXGP and MX2 classes will have two separate races. Before coming together at the end of the day for the Super Final.

We hope to attract several of the best GP riders to the event as they prepare for their GP season, which starts two weeks later. The support class will be the EMX125, which is open for 13 – 17-year-olds and gives them a chance to race at a very big event in front of a large crowd.

Updates on riders will commence as soon as we have news, so keep an eye on the popular websites and social media channels over the next few months.”

As and when things begin to happen for the event the latest information will be on www.hawkstoneinternationalmx.com

Federico Tuani comes close to scoring points in Trentino Europe

Federico Tuani of the AIT Racing team came close to score points in the fourth round of the MX2 World Championship in Arco di Trento. Tuani finished twenty-first in the first moto and rode inside the top fifteen for a long time in the second moto until his chain broke and he was forced to retire.

Tuani did not get off to a good start in the first heat, but the riding went well and he also managed to set good lap times. In the end he fell just short of scoring a point and finished twenty-first.

After a good start in the second heat, he was riding in thirteenth position in the beginning. He managed to stay in the top fifteen until the middle of the race, but then fatigue started to set in. Tuani persevered but eventually had to leave the race due to a broken chain.

In qualifying for the EMX250 class, Xavier Cazal was unable to find his rhythm. He tried several times to put a fast lap together but despite his efforts he could not get further than a twenty-first time. This meant that he was a reserve for the heats. Unfortunately he was not allowed to participate in the first heat, but this was the case in the second heat. Cazal managed to cross the finish line in twenty-sixth place in the second moto.

There was also a large turnout in the EMX125 class. Venicslav Toshev managed to set a twenty-seventh time in his group, which was not enough for qualification. Despite this disappointment, Toshev stays positive and he will again strive to achieve a good result in Markelo this Sunday.

This Sunday, several riders from the AIT Racing team will compete in the final of the Dutch Masters of Motocross in Markelo.
