2013’s Most Wanted Rider – The Impressive Dan Thornhill

This weekend a reasonably local meeting for us, at Pontrilas, Hereford, about an hour from home, for Round 5 of the British Masters.

We arrived Friday night, the track was in perfect condition, but the pits were very wet.

Saturday, qualifying was good, the track had rutted up well, and loads of lines, qualified pole, really pleased with this result.

First race, gated about fifth, but within the first lap had got myself into the lead and eventually winning the race.

Race two, a clear holeshot and lead the race until the end, improving my lap times.

Sunday, was to be a busy day for me, had got a place in the PRO MX2 race, 8.30am saw us out for qualifying, I qualified 6th overall in the MX2, and qualified 15th overall, in MX1 & MX2.  Really pleased with this result.

I went on to win two more races in the MXY2, and gave me the overall for the weekend, really pleased with this.

But the most exciting race for me for the day, was the first PRO MX1 & MX2 race, had a brilliant start, found myself finishing 6th overall in the race, and 2nd in the MX2.

Did not make the start of the 2nd PRO MX2 race, due to the two races being so close together, I came in after the last MXY2 race, very dehydrated, having bit off more than I could chew, and felt very unwell.

And a big thank you for all those people, that made this weekend possible for me.

Overall Results for the MXY2:

  1. Dan Thornhill
  2. Jay Thomas
  3. Daniel Maxey
