The SM Action Yamaha squad rose to prominence in the 2019 FIM Motocross World Championship, as Maxime Renaux hit new heights and took the team to the MX2 podium. Bearing that in mind, there have been plenty of rumours about who would ride for the squad when the new season begins. The 250F line-up has now been confirmed: Maxime Renaux will contest the MX2 class again and Andrea Adamo will continue to chase glory in EMX250.
An interesting point to consider is that both riders will run engines that have been developed by Michele Rinaldi. SM Action are not the official Yamaha team in MX2 – that honour belongs to the Kemea squad – but they will still benefit from the new structure that was announced at the Grand Prix of Italy. Another point to consider is that both Renaux and Adamo will continue to race in the Italian Prestige series.
This is not the only announcement from SM Action Yamaha, as there is more to come. The squad will enter the premier MXGP class with a new rider who will be announced in the coming days. Stay tuned to MX Vice for more.
