The Judd KTM British Youth Championship competitors enjoyed another outstanding weekend at the popular Little Silver circuit in Devon for the penultimate round of the 2019 season last weekend on September 7 and 8. The UK’s elite youth riders battled hard in their respective classes with Robbie Daly, Freddie Gardiner, Tyla Hooley, Ollie Colmer, Preston Williams and Max Ingham taking the overall wins for the weekend.

In the Auto class there was no stopping Judd Orange Brigade rider Robbie Daly who enjoyed a perfect weekend by taking all five moto wins and maximum points of 225. In second place was arch-rival Lucas Lee, who was one point behind in the championship heading into the weekend and the youngster enjoyed a number of strong starts to add to his SCOTT Sports Holeshot championship. Taking the third spot on the podium was Thai rider Brian Gyles. Rounding out the top five was Malachi Allan and SJP Moto’s Stanley Siebert. Daly now leads the class standings by 16 points going into the final round.

In the Junior 65cc class there were some action-packed battles throughout the weekend and overall winner Freddie Gardiner won four of five of the motos to elevate himself to third in the standings. SJP Moto’s Reece Jones, who now leads the championship by 40 points, took the second spot on the podium having won moto three, whilst Charlie Richmond finished third. Earning fourth and fifth positions were Brandon Buckley and Judd Orange Brigade’s Zane Stephens.

Tyla Hooley wasn’t deterred by the switch from sand to hardpack and enjoyed another strong weekend in the Small Wheel 95cc class as he clinched the maximum number of wins to extend his lead in the championship. With just a one-point advantage, Fin Wilson scooped up second place on the podium with Shaun Mahoney, who has made his debut in the class this season and sits second in the championship, in third. Louis Vincent and Judd Orange Brigade’s McKenzie Marshall completed the top five.

In the Big Wheel 85cc class there were some bar banging battles with some real breath-taking moments with four different winners across the weekend. Revo Husqvarna UK rider Ollie Colmer took the podium top spot with Icelandic rider Eidur Orri Palmarsson in second and Sam Atkinson taking third. Charlie Palmer and SJP Moto’s Jayden Haigh rounded out the top five, whilst championship leader going into the event Charlie Heyman won two motos, but did not finish the final moto due to a machine issue. Heyman concluded the weekend in sixth position and still has the advantage by two points over Atkinson going into the final round, although Colmer, who is third in the series, will surely be looking to spoil the party at the season finale.

In the 125cc class Judd Orange Brigade’s Preston Williams dominated the weekend with all five race wins. Teammate Louie Kessell pushed hard all weekend for second position, whilst James Smith was third overall. Rounding out the top five was Jack Grayshon and Ethan Lane. Williams’ strong weekend has given him a comfortable lead in the series with Grayshon now 81 points behind in second, and Kessell is third.

Max Ingham had a memorable weekend at the penultimate round of the series, as he was crowned the 2019 Judd KTM ACU British Open Champion ahead of the final moto, and the youngster went on to also take the Little Silver overall. In second place was Tyler Westcott and Jack Lindsay concluded the event in third. Rounding out the top five was Jack Roberts, who is second in the series, and Tyler Rice.

In the Rookie Championships Brian Gyles, Freddie Gardiner, Shaun Mahoney, Ollie Colmer, Louie Kessell and Max Ingham took the honours in their respective classes.

Once again, the awards were given for each holeshot for the SCOTT Sports Holeshot Championship – the latest standings will be posted soon.

The Championship now heads to Landrake Moto Parc on September 21st and 22nd for the final round for 2019 which forms part of the Battle of the MX British Titles event.
