Heading into the opening round of the AMCA Championship this weekend at Norley, Cheshire, all eyes are on 2018's championship winner Josh Waterman to see if he can do the double again in 2019. With the absence of Luke Burton in the the MX2 class this year, after moving onto the Maxxis British Championship, it is all to play for though! Keep a look out for AMCA Championship newbies Kristian Whatley, who will be competing in the MX2 class, and also Neville Bradshaw aboard the DK Off-Road Kawasaki, who will be spicing things up in MX1. It seems there has been a big mix around with teams and riders this year, even changing around with manufactures right up until last weekend! We have an all new 125 2-stroke class this year at the AMCA, which already has a huge line-up. After the success of the 2-stroke championship this past couple of years, with Richard Cannings dominating pretty much from start to finish, this is definitely going to be one to watch this coming weekend. Read all about the new class here.
Sunday morning kicks off with vets practice starting at 9.30am, shortly followed by the youth class. We then head straight into the qualifiers for the MX1 and MX2 classes. Don't forget the top twenty-five finishers from last season get automatically put through to the main qualifiers, then the rest of the spaces with be battled out for in the remaining qualifying races. This is completed with the 125 2-stroke class, then heading straight into racing for 12.50.
If you wanted to come and grab a piece of the action this weekend at Norley, pop WA6 6LJ in your sat-nav and head over. With the weather forecast looking great, it won't be one to be missed.
