Thomas Covington has had a tricky start to his Monster Energy Supercross career. Following a successful opening round in Minneapolis, where he made the main event and recorded an eleventh, he failed to qualify in Arlington and then tweaked his knee. Although he attempted to ride with the injury in Detroit earlier today, it quickly became apparent that it would not be possible and he has therefore moved onto the sidelines. There is no timeline on his recovery currently.
"Unfortunately I won't be racing tonight in Detroit. Twisted my knee last week and thought I'd be fine by this weekend but it's still not 100%. Hope to be back by Daytona!"
After recording one points-scoring ride thus far this year, Thomas Covington sat fifteenth in the 250SX East standings entering Detroit. Jordan Bailey continues to represent Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing in the 250SX East division.
