Race Control: Southwick

Everything that you need.

Everything that you need.

The focus is on the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series this week, as the FIM Motocross World Championship riders are taking advantage of a break in the schedule. Luckily the seventh American round, Southwick, is taking place in Massachusetts, so we have put everything that you need to know into this regular feature.

Information

– The timetable above will be irrelevant if you ignore this bullet point. The times are based on the local time in Massachusetts, so adjust them accordingly. Those at Southwick are five hours behind the United Kingdom and four hours behind mainland Europe. They are three hours ahead of California though!

– What's the track going to be like this weekend? Everyone knows what to expect at Southwick, but this animated track map will refresh your memory. There have been some great races in the sand!

– How can you watch the action this weekend? An extremely popular service, NBC Sports Gold, has been put together so that you can watch every single second of the action that is run throughout the weekend. We would recommend that you sign up to this service, as it works flawlessly no matter where you are in the world.

– Who has impressed our American correspondent, Steve Matthes, so far this season? The PulpMX Show host took a look at some of the underdogs in his column earlier this week. The knowledge that is gained from that column could be used to make fantasy picks!

Trey Canard is, unfortunately, set to miss yet another round (KTM/Simon Cudby)

– A handful of high-profile 450MX riders will, unfortunately, miss round seven of twelve. Trey Canard crashed earlier this week and sustained no injuries, but he is battered and bruised. '41' is expected to make his comeback at round eight in a couple of weeks. Broc Tickle, on the other hand, will not return at all this season, as the shoulder injury that he sustained at Red Bull requires around seven weeks of rest.

– If you would like to get hyped up for round seven of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross, the trailer for the new season of ‘MX Nation' will undoubtedly help you achieve that.
