One could argue that Kevin Strijbos has been forgotten about in recent weeks. Strijbos – a veteran on the Suzuki World MXGP team – withdrew from the FIM Motocross World Championship following the Grand Prix of Europe. An elbow injury was the reason behind that, but he is now back on the bike and eyeing up a return at Agueda.
"I won’t be lining up in Ottobiano, but I’ve got the all clear from the doctor and have actually started riding again this week," he said in a press release. "I’m pretty excited to get back out there, start racing again and hopefully I’ll be good to go for the MXGP of Portugal, which is the round after next."
Strijbos has obviously lose a significant number of points in the series standings, but his motivation will be quite high when he returns. The Belgian's deal with Suzuki will expire at the end of the season and consequently he must prove to those within the paddock that he still has the ability to contend at the highest level. Strijbos has exclusively revealed to MX Vice in the past that he intends to contest another season.
