More progress from Jake Shipton

More progress from Jake Shipton

The weekend started off strong for round two of the MX Nationals, with Jake placing in the top ten during qualifying. It looked as though he would take second in race one, but luck wasn't on his side when he picked up a puncture fifteen minutes in and didn't finish.

Jake pulled it back for race two, despite the setback in race one, rode hard and fast for a strong fifth place. That left him eleventh overall on the day. Jake's got another big weekend coming up, as he prepares to take on round four of the Maxxis British Championship at Hawkstone Park.

Jake Shipton: "Another positive day with a bit of bad luck. Race one got off to a good start, in second place. I was challenging for the lead and feeling good. I got a puncture fifteen minutes in, so didn't finish. I started well again in race two, worked my way into fifth and managed to stay there until the end. Moving closer to the front, which feels good considering the steady start to the season!"

Rob Hooper: "Jake is now riding like we know he is capable of. The first half of the race was a fantastic effort from him, he was challenging for the lead and had repelled challenges from behind only to be cheated of a top result by a rear-wheel puncture. A good ride in race two to build confidence and momentum moving into next week's British Championship round at the legendary Hawkstone Park."
