Wil Hahn has already enjoyed some success following his retirement, which has made him hot property within the paddock. After working at the Geico Honda team over the last four months, Hahn has been picked up by the Yamalube Star Racing Yamaha team as an assistant team manager.
Hahn's new role, which is considered a step up from what he was doing in his previous position, will include assisting Brad Hoffman (Star's current team manager) at the races and also working on the amateur-support programme. The former 250SX East champion will be ‘blue' for the first time this weekend in St. Louis.
"I have to give a big thanks to the entire @FCHonda team," Hahn wrote on social media. "They stuck with me through a lot of injuries during my career and gave me a second chance that turned into a very successful few years, then they gave me a shot post career to have a life after racing. Jeff and Ziggy will always be apart of my family… and to the entire crew working there for accepting me right in. Also for supporting me in my future role with @StarRacingYamaha. Love you guys."
Hahn actually rode for the Star Racing Yamaha team in 2008 and finished eighth in the 250SX West series. A seventh in Phoenix was his best result that season.
