The cancellation at the Grand Prix of Indonesia obviously sent shockwaves through the industry, as it is fairly unorthodox for that to occur at such a high-profile event. That is why Youthstream have elected to issue their own statement on MXGP.com, explaining the decision and situation with the results.
"Due to the extreme weather conditions at the MXGP of Indonesia, the event management came to a decision to end the MX2 race two prematurely and cancel MXGP race two," the statement reads. "For the overall of MX2 (counting race one and race two) Suzuki World MX2 Team’s Jeremy Seewer came out victorious followed by TM Racing’s Samuele Bernardini and LRT KTM’s Julien Lieber.
"In MXGP race one, results were used for overall classification," it continues. "This secured the win for Wilvo Yamaha MXGP’s Shaun Simpson, second for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Glenn Coldenhoff, while Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team’s Clement Desalle rounded out the podium. Both Youthstream and the FIM now look forward to racing in two weeks at the MXGP of Patagonia Argentina."
The results from those events, as well as the updated standings, can be found on this link.
