Lucas Coenen has won the opening moto of the MX2 class in Lombok. Coenen managed to pass Simon Laengenfelder in the beginning of the race and was in control for the rest of the moto. Coenen won the moto in front of Laengenfelder and championship leader Kay de Wolf. The Dutchman passed Laengenfelder during the race but lost second position to Laengenfelder again with still a few laps to go.
Mikkel Haarup and Liam Everts were rounding out the top five. Reigning World Champion Andrea Adamo crashed in an attempt to take over fourth position from Sacha Coenen in the beginning and fought his way back to sixth! Coenen crashed a lap later and eventually finished in seventh position.
