Quentin Prugnieres of F&H Racing finished eleventh in the eleventh round of the MX2 World Championship in Lombok, Indonesia. Prugnieres managed to finish tenth in the first moto and crossed the finish line in twelfth place in the second moto.
In the hot conditions, Prugnieres did not have an easy time on the track on Saturday. He was looking for the right rhythm and therefore did not get any further than a fourteenth time in time practice and finished sixteenth in the qualifying heat. In the qualifying heat, he started the race just outside the top ten, but a mistake in the early stages cost him a lot of time, causing him to lose several places and eventually finish sixteenth.
Motivated for a good result, Prugnieres was behind the starting gate for the first moto. He didn’t get off to a good start and started the second lap in thirteenth place. In the first half of the race, he changed positions several times, but because he was able to keep the pace high in the second half of the race, he managed to gain several places and finished tenth.
In the second moto he was again battling just outside the top ten for the entire race. Several times he was in eleventh place and then dropped back to twelfth place. Prugnieres fought all the way to the finish but eventually had to settle for twelfth place.
With a 10-12 in the motos, Prugnieres finished in eleventh place in the day’s classification. He is now tenth in the world championship standings. This weekend there will be another race at the same location, but then the track will be in the opposite direction. Prugnieres hopes to find the right rhythm so that he can show his potential!
